To Accessorise or Not to Accessorise

So l've come along way in the last 5 years years in the fact that l only ever really wore black clothes, to wearing colours, now even floral  and loving it... but now l want to go one step further hair accessories, having short hair though  poses a problem... what do l use?.. flowers, glitz, pearls, clips, l really don't know ... and then of course l have to think of my age.. nearly 50 and don't want to look silly...
so l have been looking through Asos hair accessories and came up with a few bits and pieces that l love and just might have to purchase a few...

Looking forward to tailoring them to individual outfits..

A bucket list of things to do before l'm 50 ...

I've been thinking about this over the last few months.. of things l've  wanted to do and not got around  to,  most of them silly quirky things but now we are fast approaching the ripe old age of 50,  l feel l ought to try and achieve at least some of them ....

1, Eat a knickerbocker Glory in an icecream palour
2, Jump in the puddles with wellies on 
3, write my name in wet cement
4, roll down a hill like a did when l was a child
5, fly a kite
6,crave my name on a tree
7, have afternoon tea, somewhere nice,
8, Be rowed along a canal 
9, go camping
10, go for a ride on a steam train

11, dye my hair blonde
12, lay under the stars holding my partners hand
13, Own old fashioned wooden pegs
14, be confident in a my abilities
15, wear blue nail varnish 
16, dance in the rain with my partner
17, have a random picnic, with blanket and wicker basket 
18, wear a floppy hat with a big flower on the side 
20, spend a few days exploring the Isle of Wight....

Yes l think that will do for now but l'm sure l'll think of some more..

I have always loved the vintage look, and of late have done a bit of research through the internet and found sooo many beautiful dresses on so many wonderful sites, one that really drew my attention was http://ladyvlondon.com/ ...

Well l took the plunge and bought one to wear to a wedding, and had so many compliments and felt amazing l have to say....  i emailed a photo to Lady Vintage on their facebook page and was so surprised that not only did they publish my email but my photo as well.... and it got 180 likes and so many  touching comments...

Seaside on your Doorstep

The good thing about living where l do is that  literally is 5 minutes from the sea...  and after all my hardwork this morning l thought a stroll along the prom with the dog was in order... it's such a beautiful day and the water is shimmering, the port is as busy as ever and as it's the beginning of the school holidays the beach is heaving with excited children... but looking out to sea, all the noise and the hum of voices disappears ...

Another First..

  Found this lovely maxi skirt in Peacocks and over the course of a couple weeks l kept eyeing in up but having never worn one before l just wasn't sure.. But this week l took the bull by the horns or the skirt by the hanger and took a risk... and l love it it feels so comfy and flowing.. teamed with a M&S Camisole top, Denim Jacket from Dorothy Perkins and a lovely pair of White Woven Round Toe Pumps
 from Dorothy Perkins as well...  and there we have it...

Loving the Flowers..

For someone who has spent the majority of her life wearing black, ( and not for a gothic reason) just because of my size, as well as my 20 year son said once, "Mum you wear black to fad in to the background" and yes it was probably very true... mmmm quite a wake up call...

So here we are well in my late 40's and not only have l found love but colour as well.... and my smile back :-) xx

Riding the Roads...

   This was another day out we had while Mr happy was enjoying a few days away from work.. We love nothing better than jumping on the bike and riding off around the countryside stopping to admire the beautiful views... and we have to stop at the two of the  best motorbike cafe's around Kent... Blue and White Cafe, and H's Cafe ...excellent food and lovely owners... worth a visit to both....

    The outfit for the day was leathers, armed jacket,  pretty cami top from Dorothy Perkins  and my new lovely cherry bandanna.. love it

Floral, Fishing & Thunder

   For a few hours out of the hustle and bustle of life Mr Happy and I love to wonder off to the seafront so he can do a bit of fishing and  l love to sit and watch the waves and clouds... taking in the sights of the world going past. l'm a great one for people watching.. 

   This weekend we drove to Samphire Hoe just outside Dover ..."Samphire Hoe is an amazing place. There is something for everyone who enjoys the outdoors and wildlife: a stunning location and outstanding scenery, peace and quiet, walks, wild flowers, birds, sea angling and picnics"  The weather was blazing sunshine not a breeze or a cloud in the sky..."

   To keep cool l wore my gorgeous Cullote Shorts in Ditsy Floral from Asos Curve, so comfortable, free flowing, bright and colourful.. i have washed them a couple of times and they wash up well .. perfect for those summer days and getaways ... matching with a cami top for M&S .. loved the outfit.. and of course my old faithful Next red Mary Janes..

    And with in three hours the cloud to beat all clouds rolled in and the wind got up and the heavens opened and the lightening lite up the skys... it was amazing to be out in it and watch it ... and we danced in the rain, another first for us as a couple :-)

Cupcakes Galore...

It seemed a good idea at the time....

        Ever had one of those moments when in a flash you have thought about, decided to, acted on and  hey presto there is the entire contents of your wardrobe strewn all over your bed and the floor is a sea of shoes and bags... well today my lovelies l had one of those moments and l have to say have been regretting it ever since... yes my wardrobes look great there's nothing in them it's just everywhere else...

Quirky Garden....

For many years throughout my married life l had a massive garden, and enjoyed escaping out to the greenhouse and pottering around the the flower beds and nattering with my gardening buddy next door till the   wee small hours.. since divorcing, moving and setting up a  life of my own l have been able to develop an eclectic theme to my new  little patioed garden...

of course there are the plants and flowering shrubs and baskets as well...

I love to spends hours out there by day and evening as well sitting watching all the lights magically start to lighten up ... my little wonderland xx

I have added the last two photo's as the remind me of my Mum and dad, the poppies were my mines favourites, thats why l love them and grow them, she passed away a year ago after a short 8 week illness through cancer. And the plaque just reminds me of my Dad's smile who passed away 8 years ago after a ten year battle with cancer.. Both taken far too soon .....

Ok this is Me...

Not the best photo in the world, but l will find another very soon...

So what makes me so special that l would write a blog about my myself, there are no special reasons, having loved reading through so many peoples blogs, it dawned on me that it would be me the out let that l needed, 1,  for approaching 50,  2, expressing my thoughts and feeling,  3, for showing my quirky photos,  (and yes l'm on instagram as well...http://instagram.com/mrshappy65/ ) 4, l love reading the fashion bloggers pages, but l haven't seen any for the well shall we say the more mature in years ladies, as l am very young at heart and head really :-) .... So there will be the odd blog about plussize fashion  and of course the photos in many outfits..

A little on my personal background..l was  married for 18 years, 3 children(a son and 2 daughters) in their late teens and early 20's 3 grandchildren three delightful boys... divorced in 2008.. but in 2010 met my soul mate Ronnie (My hairy lovable partner) .. quick funny facts moment... we knew each other other when we were 16/17 we worked together and were friends, we went our separate ways, over the following years we married with in a month of each other, danced to the same songs at our weddings, lived with in a mile or so of each other throughout that time and never bumped in to each other.. and separated within 2 months of each other.... 18 months after our marriages ended we were introduced by a mutual friend and have been very happy ever since... Hence the name Mrs Happy.

There my first blog written, it wasn't as hard as l thought it was ...
